How to write better?

It is important to know that there are some simple and basic steps on how to write better, that is, the six steps that you imagined when you thought about improving your writing no longer exist. We separate some tips to make this process easier when implementing it in your daily life. Check out:

1. Create the habit of reading

If you don't read enough, now is the time. Writing better is a consequence of more moments of reading. We are not saying that listening to podcasts or watching videos is wrong. In fact, they are great ways to gain knowledge, but when it comes to writing better, reading is an ally. Observing the textual construction of other authors, the contextualization of ideas, terms used and other characteristics of a good text are ways to work your look and improve your text even more. So, take advantage of your free time or determine a period of your day to catch up on reading and, consequently, improve your texts. Important: it is not a rule that the book is about how to write better or just about your area, you can read about any subject that you like. The more variety in the reading list, the better!

2. Have a notebook

You know when that wonderful idea comes up and you end up losing it because there's nowhere to write it down? This is simple to solve when you have a notebook in your bag or even your cell phone notepad. Don't trust your brain believing that it will remember the idea when it's near the computer, because unfortunately, that may not happen. Write down everything that pops into your head because it can turn into content when you need it most.

3. Be less technical and more objective

A technique is not a good alternative for those who want to write well. It's actually a bad choice. The main point of a good text is the clarity of information. Show that you master the subject and can present your ideas objectively without having to resort to textual stalling.

4. Work on your vocabulary

Words that are difficult, far-fetched, or that you don't know the meaning of are not good options. They do not aggregate your text and understanding it is extremely difficult. This does not mean that it is a crime to have a large vocabulary, as knowing several words with the same meaning can help you but use it sparingly. Avoid terms that are little used in everyday life and choose words that make your content in the text clear.

5. Read aloud

How to know if your text is good? Read it out loud, as this will help you notice repeated words, unintentional rhymes, and other details that can make your writing poor. When reading aloud, you can hear possible errors, correct them and even improve some points of your content.

6. Eat and sleep well

Sleeping and eating well will help your writing process. It's no use filling your brain with information if it's too tired to receive everything it's consuming. Rest your mind, eat well, and get ready to put your words on paper. If the brain is exhausted, it will not be able to absorb new words or phrases, nor the meanings it knew at that moment. Writing well is a repertoire and to keep everything up to date (and in order) it is necessary to take care of that side of the body as well. As we said at the beginning of the text, writing well may seem difficult or even impossible for some people, but it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, we show simple and basic ways to implement your routine.
